Professional & Successful Pain Treatments (Shoulder, Knee, Low Back and Neck)

Occipital Nerve Blockage (Gon Treatment in Migraine Pain)

It is one of the most common methods used in the treatment of persistent headaches.  There are several varieties;  greater occipital nerve block ( GON ) small occipital nerve ( LON ), supratrochlear, supraorbial, and aoriculotemporal nerve blockade.  Occipital blockade is a method of blocking the sensation of pain by administering anesthetic substances to the related nerve.

The procedure is performed as follows: The patient is in a sitting position and the head is tilted slightly forward.  At the back of the head, the occipital nerve is entered with a 26G needle.  And a local anesthetic is injected between the skull bone and the skin.  It is a safe procedure with no side effects.  It is an effective procedure in many pains such as migraine, tension-type headache, cluster ligament pain, and occipital neuralgia.

Cervical Nerve Blockage (Neck Pain Treatment)

Cervical nerve root block is the process of injecting depot cortisone and local anesthetic into the neck nerve roots using a special needle.  It is a minimally invasive technique performed in an outpatient setting.  It takes 30 minutes maximum.  The goal is to relieve pain.  After the injection is completed, the patient's pain is expected to decrease.

If the pain decreases, the correct nerve root is identified.  There is a very rare risk.  Recovery time can take from a few weeks to several months.  It is applied in persistent neck pain, spinal and arm pain, herniation in narrow canal, degeneration of spinal cord cartilage.

Percutaneous Cardotomy (Cancer Pain Treatment)

This process means that a needle from the neck level (C1-2) is inserted into the spinal cord with an erectrode and the pathways that carry our pain sensation to the brain are found and burned.  This is not an operation, it is technically performed with tomography.  It is also used with radiofrequency device.  It is the procedure to identify the exact place of pain and burn the nerve there.

The success rate is 90%. Especially oncology uses it a lot.  Cancer patients can get rid of their pain with this method.  They use it especially for hip, back, back pain (metastatic).  After the procedure, the patient is sent to the service and kept under follow-up for a while.

Meralgia Paresthetica

It is a kind of disease caused by the compression of the nerve called lateral femoral cutaneous nerve at the inguinal level. Especially in the groin area, numbness, tingling and pain occur on the outer side and front of the thigh.  Pain is described as stinging and burning.  It increases with contact and walking. This disease has many factors.  Obesity, saggy belly, pregnancy, uterine surgery and inguinal hernia surgery, tumors, impact and force on the region are among these factors.  Diagnosis is made by EMG.

In the treatment of this disease, it is especially important to find the cause. In addition, weight loss, belt change, interruption of exercises, anti-inflammatory drug therapy, physical therapy, radiofrequency therapy, local corticosteroid injections and surgical relaxation are the recommended treatment methods.  Most of them heal themselves.  The last option is surgical release of the nerve.
